Our AspireED summer teaching team - Alyssa Huang (The Branson School), Jasmine Angulo (Novato High School), and Meerab Irfan (Novato High School) are teaching rising 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade first generation students, who are interactive, attentive learners!

1st grade boys learn to keep a scientific journal.

3rd grade students document caterpillar movements, skin molting, and silk production with Alyssa.
Week 1 consisted of introducing the butterfly life cycle. Students are reading and learning about metamorphosis, observing live caterpillars, and learning to create scientific journals that document their observations.

3rd grade students observe caterpillars and share their observations with Jasmine.
In the weeks that follow, AspireED will be covering a range of topics, including ant colonies, insects in general, principles of flight, ultraviolet light, chemical reactions, and food science. The focus will be on hands-on activities to keep the kids engaged.
